Albion Players Bathing In Beer Tommorrow
In the latest single match shirt sponsorship deal, Albion have joined forces with Brierley Hill brewers, Bathams. The Bathams logo will adorn the Albion shirt tommorrow for the visit of Preston.
This will not only be a great advert for the real ale brewery, however, also serve as a tribute to DBA ‘Arthur’ Batham the founder of Bathams who was a lifelong Albion fan and season ticket holder for many years before he passed away aged 83 recently.
Arthur, along with his two sons who now run the brewery,Tim and Matt, used to be at most Albion games. He started his career as an Albion fan in the 1930′s and watched his last game from the Tony Brown Suite when Albion beat Posh on Boxing day.
Bathams are planning to hold a shirt auction to raise money for Cancer Research once the game is over.
Adrian Wright said: “We’re delighted to have struck this partnership with Bathams.
“Both the football club and Bathams are Black Country institutions and I am sure this sponsorship deal will strike a chord with many of our supporters.
“The shirt sponsorship is also a fitting tribute to Arthur, who I am sure would have been proud to see his family name on the shirt of the club he followed so avidly.”
Albion are also hoping to cash in on this deal on top of the sponsorship fee by producing just 50 limited edition shirts that will go on sale tommorrow for £39.99.
